We see her frustration at being the middle child, as she complains that neither of her siblings take her seriously and are always leaving her out of the fun stuff. The primary focus seems to be on Ikki as she struggles to find her place among the trio. So it’s nice to see how the children have progressed since the end of Book 3. We get little glimpses of their lives in the three years including Jinora’s relationship with Kai, but other than that, not much else.
#Avatar korra book 4 episode 9 series
Since the series began we’ve had very little interaction with Ikki, Jinora and Meelo. Normally I’d agree but I would also argue that the episode does a great job at further exploring the relationship between the three kids. We see a lot more about the relationship between the three children, especially Ikki and Meelo who seem to spend the most time together in the episode looking for Korra while Jinora attempts to connect with her spiritual self. Heck the most action we get is a few seconds of Jinora and Meelo fighting off a couple of Earth Empire guards. The episode at first feels a lot like another filler, focusing less on the goings on in the Earth Empire and more on Tenzin’s children’s quest. Jinora tries to connect to Korra’s spirit It’s just Ikki, Jinora, Meelo, Toph and Korra.

No other support characters are introduced no Mako, no Bolin, no Asami and no Kuvira. So we continue exploring why Korra’s hasn’t been able to enter the Avatar state and her struggle to remove the metal from her body. But her attempts at getting them out are in vain, as Toph claims that something is preventing Korra from getting better. We learned from last week that Korra still has a bit of metal left in her body. Meanwhile, Korra continues her training in the swamp with Toph, eventually discovering why she’s been holding back. This week’s episode follows Tenzin’s children, Jinora, Ikki and Meelo as they travel across the world in search of the missing Avatar. The hunt is on for Korra in the latest episode of The Legend of Korra, The Calling.
